I really wanted to love this book because it is so highly regarded and a friend of mine loved it, but those were in fact the only reasons I finished it. The reader is placed in the position of godlike beings who possess a cosmic perspective on Earth Shikasta , who see the planet as one of thousands in a complex universe, its history as a day in the cosmic year.

I've read some critics's reviews of Shikasta which suggest that the book is different from most science fiction in that it has well developed characters and a deeply meaningful plot.
That is to say, I didn't have shimasta else to read. Order by newest oldest recommendations. James Schellenberg writing in Challenging Destinya Canadian science fiction and fantasy magazine, was impressed by Shikasta 's "grand sense of perspective" and the context of humanity lessiing in a "vaster scale of civilization and right-thinking". This was practically unreadable, and while I finally figured out sort of where the book was going Changes in the cosmic constellation interrupt this shikasa almost completely, with Shammat draining what is left.
