Not even death is powerful enough to overcome my feelings for you. Hated it and am disappointed in myself for not stopping after the first couple of chapters and picking out something else to read. Jack feels closer to Lizzie here where she grew up and many interesting things happen good and bad but you have to read it! For anyone who needs a book just to have a good cry, to be reminded God really does have a plan, or just need a little uplifting this book is for you.

Let me say this here: Powerfully written, I can recommend "One Summer" to you without hesitation. If you put aside the weak plot, I think the story's well told.

Baldacci had me hooked, and I've been a fan ever since. One Summer is certainly one of those books that make difference.
You should probably take notes. I couldn't put it down. What happens next could only be written this well by a writer of Baldacci's skill level.

His in-laws place him in hospice to await his death and the children are given to three different family members. Sparks' writes this type of genre very well. With your name alone you can write a best seller using my fool proof formula. He ends up spending a lot of time in the hospice center when he not only lives longer than expected, but suddenly seems to recover. The judge sides with her because he left the kids alone some nights to work on a lighthouse.

Knowing his time on earth is limited, he agrees with his mother-in-law as he watches his children being separated to live with various family members, while he lies alone in a hospice center just waiting to take his last breath.
